Communication and Marketing Director to Circulose
Are you Circulose next Communication and Marketing Director?
Circulose is a Swedish textile innovation company producing CIRCULOSE® – a raw material made from 100% recycled cotton textiles. We partner with global fashion brands and fiber producers to shift the industry from linear to circular. Not someday. Today.
We’re scaling fast, expanding globally, and making a real impact. To do that, we need people who combine sharp thinking with the initiative to build what doesn’t yet exist.
The Opportunity
For Circulose Communications and marketing are core to how brands decide to convert to CIRCULOSE®, and to how we are seen in a market and a policy landscape that is moving fast.
This is a role with real ownership. You will lead Circulose’s Communications & Marketing, with a small team of comms specialists reporting to you directly. You will own how the world hears about industrial-scale textile recycling, and make sure that story does real commercial work: turning brand signings into announcements, product launches into stories, and policy shifts into urgency to convert.
The role reports to the CEO and is based at Circulose’s headquarters in Stockholm.
Where You’ll Have Outsized Impact
1. Telling Circulose’s story. Build the messaging that connects industrial credibility, fashion relevance, and policy. Press, social, website, and media relations that make Circulose the reference point for recycled materials.
2. Making sales faster. Turn our commercial pipeline into a steady stream of proof: selling packs, product storytelling, announcement processes, and content systems that help our commercial team close faster.
3. Owning the moments that matter. Collaborate with Commercial, HR, and Leadership to leverage our biggest asset – the world's first and largest textile-to-textile recycling plant. Lead events end-to-end and build a reusable footage library no competitor can copy.
Key Responsibilities
· Communications & PR – Lead corporate communications across press, social media, and website. Develop integrated messaging linking policy with brand positioning. Manage media relations and thought leadership. Own crisis communication on regulatory, environmental, or reputational issues.
· Marketing & Branding – Own brand guidelines and visual identity. Plan twelve-month fair calendar with the Commercial Directors. Build marketing assets for Circulose, brand partners, and value chain partners. Support co-branding so partners get real value from CIRCULOSE®.
· Commercial Content & Sales Enablement – Run partner announcements with coordinated press and social rollout. Build a product storytelling engine: searchable hub, image and video library, and a cadence of at least one product story every two weeks. Produce lean, visual selling packs.
· Public Affairs – Translate policy developments – including EU textile regulation – into clear storytelling that builds trust in Circulose and an urgency to convert, in collaboration with our public affairs partners.
· Leadership – Lead and develop the comms team, setting priorities as the company scales.
Your Profile
· Fluent in Swedish and English. Based in Stockholm, or willing to relocate.
· 5+ years with leadership experience in comms, PR or brand marketing – hands-on ownership, not just executing strategy.
· Hands-on by instinct. Comfortable writing the release yourself, not just briefing someone else. Energized by broad scope with a lean team, leveraging modern ways of working.
· Genuine interest in materials, sustainability, or fashion supply chains.
· A bias toward building things that don’t exist yet, over maintaining things that do.
Who you are
You want to build a function early, not inherit a finished one. You're equally at home drafting a press release under pressure and briefing the CEO before a policy shift breaks. You understand communications is infrastructure, not decoration, and you care about making it work for everyone who relies on it.
To succeed in this position we believe that you have
· Ownership – you take responsibility for outcomes, not just activities.
· Boldness – you push boundaries, challenge defaults, and do what it takes.
· Care – you act with integrity toward your colleagues, partners, and the planet.
· Excellence – you set high standards and keep raising them.
Why Circulose
We are a company with a clear purpose: scale circular fashion. We’ve built the technology, secured the partnerships, and proven the model. Now we need the world, and our own industry, to know it.
You will lead a small, capable team, have direct access to leadership, and shape how a pioneering company tells its story: on the page, on the factory floor, and in the policy rooms that decide our industry’s future.
If you want to make circularity impossible to ignore, this is your role.
We are looking forward to your application no later than September 20:th.
The position may be filled earlier so please apply as soon as possible.
